The words of the prophet to Tyrus are directed to Lucifer and afford us an opportunity to see into the past. The status and presence of Lucifer is absolutely astonishing. We find this in Ezekiel 28.
Thou sealest up the sum or you were the very finality, the consumation, the fullness of wisdom. Solomon’s wisdom excelled all but his life was contrary to the word of the Lord. there is a wisdom that is not Godly.
Perfect in beauty. The very epitime of beauty. An absolute example of what beauty was to be. You were the model of perfection. NIV The word beauty can also indicate to be bright. Lucifer was a being of light in the heavens.
You were in Eden. The garden of God. There was no place from which he was excluded. Every precious stone, stones of light, of great value was a covering or protection to him. Note that there are nine stones mentioned. Nine is the number of the Holy Spirit, nine fruit, nine gifts, nine virtues. These stones, plus three others, were used in the breastplate of the High Priest. Six of these stones are to be in the Foundation of the New Jerusalem, six is the number of man. Rev.21:19 Babylon, the harlot church is also decked with a variety of precious stones. Rev. 17:4 The imitation is made to appear as the real thing. Lucifer was the High Priest of the heavenlies until he sinned. These stones were unquestionable set in gold. the righteousness and eternity of God. The word, workmanship, is an interesting word for it carries the intent of deputyship or ministry. Tabrets, tambourine or drum. The pipes with holes, musical instruments.
The day that thou was created. Lucifer for all his exalted position was not equal to God. God is eternal. Lucifer is created. God did not create sin. The word, evil, in Isa. 45:7 is the Hebrew word Raâ. Which means adversity, affliction, to punish or distress. Lucifer will be judged in the land where he was created. Eze.21:38 He will stand before the judgment seat of the Lord and final judgment will be passed upon him. His fate is sealed and certain.
Lucifer does not have the power nor capabilities of the Lord. He is not a deity nor is he divine. He is not to be worshipped nor should he be feared. His authority is further limited because he is a fallen being. Jesus saw him fall as lightening. Lk.10:18 He still has access to the very throne presence of God where he is the great accuser. The birth of the manchild is the fuse that ignites war in heaven and the casting out of Satan. Rev.12:9 His current work and position is seen in Rev.12:10 He is the accuser of the brethren. Don’t help him by having a critical spirit or by gossiping.
