Jer. 12:5 If the horror of current events deeply disturb us what will we do in the future? What we are facing is merely the footmen, the horses are coming. If we stumble now, in the land of peace, in which we have trusted, what will we do in the swelling of Jordan?
CONTENDING WITH THE RIVER JORDAN.
Joshua {Jehovah-saved}, lead the children of Israel from the wilderness to the Promised Land by crossing victoriously Jordan. But the battle had just begun. There are no circumstances that cannot be overcome with the help of the Lord. If the Lord be for us, who can be against us?
Rom. 8:31.Joshua 3:2 After three days, the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.
Joshua 3:3 Follow the Ark, The hallowed presence of the Lord himself. GO AFTER IT. Contend for the faith oncedelivered.
Joshua 3:4 A space of two thousand cubits. The two thousand years from Christ until now. Knowledge given of apath that had never been taken before. The Lord will do a new thing.
Joshua 3:5 A preparation necessary for fording the river. Sanctify yourselves or consecrate yourselves. A completecommitment is a necessity in order to see the benefits prepared by the Lord. Amazing, wonderful, miraculous eventsto transpire.
Joshua 3:9 Hear the WORD of the LORD. How essential. Not only to hear the word but to believe it also.
Joshua 3:15-17 Jordan was flooding, not just a tranquil river. The waters backed up as the presence of the Lord inthe ark entered the waters. The Priests stood firm in Jordan while Israel passed over, dry shod.
Joshua 3:12 Twelve men chosen for a special purpose.
Joshua 4:9 Twelve stones set up in the midst of Jordan. The initial Apostles of Christ.
Joshua 4:5 Twelve stones taken from the midst of Jordan and placed as a memorial and a sign of the mighty acts ofthe Lord. The latter twelve represent the last day Apostles who will lead the church into perfection.
Rev. 4:4 Thereare twenty-four seats around the THRONE, with twenty-four elders occupying them.
Joshua 4:19 They came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month or at the time of the feast of newbeginnings, Passover. On the tenth day they were to choose their lamb for the Passover sacrifice and feast. A newbeginning in a new land. God will do a new thing. A way in the wilderness, an abundance of water. We will take a look soon at the wilderness as proclaimed by Isaiah.
Isaiah 43:19 They made their camp at Gilgal {rolling} where they were circumcised conforming them to the Covenant of Moses and the Law.
Joshua 5:3 Circumcision under grace is of the heart and in the spirit.
Rom. 2:29. No matter how great the flood, the Lord will provide passage.
