THE FATHER. Jesus frequently acknowledged the Father and identified Him as the one from whom He had come, and to whom He would return. John 16:28 His every action and word originated with the Father. Jesus said, “I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me I speak these things.” John 8:28 In His ministry, the Father never left Him alone. Certainly the secret of that consistent fellowship Was the fact that Jesus always did the things that pleased the Father. John 8:29 Jesus, in fulfilling the Law gave honor to His Father. John 8:49 Jesus made it very plain that the decision made by those who would be saved originates with the Father. No man can come to Jesus, “except it be given Him of His Father.” John 6:65 Jesus proclaimed His Father to be “greater” than Himself. Jesus was speaking as the Son, as a human being, one born into this life. John 14:26 Spiritually, in His eternal status, Jesus was one with the Father. John 10:29 Also, that He was in the Father and that the Father was in Him. John 14:10 There is a unity in God that only the Spirit and the Word can make known to us.
THE SON. Jesus came showing forth the character of the Father. We may only know the Father through the Son. The Spirit that was in Christ was so identical to the Father that Jesus was able to identify Himself as the exact replica, the perfect likeness of His Father. So much so, that He said if they had seen Him, they had seen the Father. John 14:9 After all, did not Jesus say, “I am in the Father and the Father in Me.” John 14:10 Of this Jesus, Paul was to write that the fullness of the Godhead dwelt in Him. A condition which greatly pleased the Father. Col. 1:19 It is more difficult to separate the members of the Godhead than it is to unify them. The invisible Father, the unseen Holy Spirit dwelt within the physical body of the Lord Jesus. Col. 2:9. Positively the mystery of godliness is great but the beauty of it all is, that through His Word, He reveals Himself.
THE HOLY SPIRIT. So vital, so active in the spiritual life of every person who would want to know the Lord Jesus. He said He would ask of the Father and send the Spirit of truth to them who would abide forever, not just a dispensation. John 16:16-17 Known as the Comforter, [one like the one who went away] He was sent of the Lord Jesus. John 16:9 Once again showing a joint operation between the Fatherc, the Son and the Holy Spirit. :END:
