A GREAT SALVATION PROVIDED BY A TRIUNE GOD. If God be God, and He is. Then what escape is there from a lost life, filled with turmoil. There is none, but one. Today is the day of salvation. There is no promise for tomorrow. Remember the rich man who was to build bigger and better, tomorrow. That night death required his presence. He was properly labeled a “fool.” Luke 12:20 And so is every person who will disregard or neglect the salvation so freely proffered by the Lord Jesus. He is the only door to heaven and life eternal. John 10:7 Those attempting to “climb up some other way,” are thieves and robbers. They not only hinder themselves from participating in eternal life but they also persuade others to follow their pernicious ways. John 10:1 Not only was the gospel confirmed to Paul by those who heard the Lord Jesus but it was also most powerfully verified to him. His personal experience in salvation left no doubt in his heart and mind that Christ was real. Acts 26:13.
THE WITNESS OF GOD, THE FATHER. The evidence of the Father being in the Son was seen in the life and miracles of the Lord Jesus, which He attributed to His Father. His works were delegated to Him from the Father. ” the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.” John 5:36 He likewise bore testimony that the Father, dwelling within Him was the source of the works which He wrought. John 14:10 There is most definitely a key to be found here. Jesus promised His disciples that they would do greater works for He was to be in the presence of His Father. John 14:12 The works of Christ are duplicated in a people who are blessed with all the fullness of the Father. Jesus commissioned those whom He sent them out to go and “heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils, freely ye have received, freely give.” Mt. 10:8 We can only distribute that which we have received.
THE HOLY SPIRIT, THE GREAT GIFT OF THE LORD. There is no record of the Father ever retracting His precious gift of the Spirit to the church. If it were necessary for the Spirit to come upon and abide on the Lord Jesus, how much greater is the need in our lives today. Baptism in water as vital to His ministry for He said, “it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Mt. 3:15-16 Having completed this act of obedience He was filled with the Spirit, in a mighty manner. Please note, it was not a dove which descended upon Him, but the Spirit descending swiftly and filling His whole being.
