SEEING THE INVISIBLE. The ability to see the invisible is not a minor circumstance, nevertheless it is possible. Moses was one to whom the invisible God saw fit to reveal Himself in various ways. Because of that revelation he was able to lead his people out from Egypt and captivity. The glory of the Lord was the source of his reaction and boldness. He was in the presence of the glory of the Lord until the glory was literally transferred to him. The shining, the transmitted light of the God in whose presence Moses had been, was too bright for the Israelites to look upon. The skin of his face was shining [Hebrew, to shoot out horns or rays.] How intense that light must have been for he had to wear a veil over his face when among the people. When he went into the presence of the Lord, he removed it for he was in the presence of the God of light. Ex. 34:30, 34-35. In the days prior to the release of Israel, the Lord proved Himself to them by means of light. While Egypt suffered in the worst kind of darkness. A darkness that could be felt, a thick darkness. So great was the plague of darkness that for three days they were unable to see one another. Further more, they were unable to move from what ever situation they were in when the
darkness came upon them. Contrariwise, the Israelites, in Goshen had light. Ex. 10:22-23 God is light.
WHAT A DRAB WORLD THIS IS. Take away light and there is no color to even the brightest of colors. Color is not in the flowers nor in the bright colors that are used to paint houses and the rooms of our houses. Color is in LIGHT. In darkness there is no color to be found. There is nothing more dismal than a life without Christ. The eye gate, the gate to the soul. The individual that is living a life of sin and iniquity is stated to have an evil eye. Jesus then referred to a light which such a person may possess as being a light of darkness, great darkness. He was making this statement to people who were religious. Most certainly, a darkness equal to that of Egypt. Religion is not the true light, the Egyptians were religious. Mt. 6:23 Jesus is Light. He is the light of the world. He is the light that shines into the darkness of this world giving color, joy and happiness to those who walk in His light. Jesus said, I AM the light of the world. This is an absolute, anyway this statement is considered whether naturally or spiritually, that is precisely His nature and being. Those who love Him and follow Him have found the true meaning of life on this earth and the new heavens and earth to come. John 8:12 Their daily life is enhanced by the presence of the light of the world. Their spiritual life is growing brighter and brighter as they walk the path of light unto that perfect day.Prov. 4:18.
