HE IS THE LIVING GOD. Ever living, and the source of all life. Were it not for Him there could be no life on earth or in the universe. All life is completely dependent on Him, whether it be spiritual life or animal life. He is the only source. Jer. 10:10. The riches of this world are at their best uncertain riches. They can perish so quickly and will most certainly do so in the not too distant future. How often do we hear the statement from the gulf states,” we lost everything.” Trust in the “living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.” 1 Tim. 6:17 The spiritual is of far greater satisfaction and will result in the meeting of all our needs. The natural, the worldly riches only serve to create problems and worries and never benefit the spiritual side of man. His promise is to meet the spiritual and natural daily need of our lives. Phil. 4:19 Having a constant supply of food and raiment we should learn to be content. 1 Tim. 6:8.
HE IS THE EVERLASTING KING. Ps. 10:16 As the King, He establishes law and order. Designating a way of life for His adherents. A life that pleases Him and is pleasant to those who are members of His kingdom. As the lawgiver He is also the Judge. He will judge according to righteousness and justice. As a King He will save and preserve His very own. Isa. 33:22 In speaking of the Law we are not referring to what was called the Law of Moses. He has taken that Law and given us the Spirit of the Law. No longer on tables of stone but by His Spirit they are written on our hearts. 2 Cor. 3:3 Because we have His nature and His Spirit, by nature we do those things which please Him. Serving the Lord is not drudgery but a privilege and a pleasure. We now serve under the leadership of a King who has provided “the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.” Rom. 8:2 When the Spirit is Lord in our lives we follow His leadings. Therefore the Christian life is not burdensome but joyous. Now, the righteousness of the Law and consequently His righteousness is being fulfilled in us. That we no longer would walk after the ways of this world but completely in the light and glory of His perfect will for us. Rom. 8:3 It comes down to a conflict between the carnal mind and its works and the spiritual mind with its manifestation of purity and holiness. He has made every provision necessary that we might enjoy the Spiritual life that is found in the Lord Jesus. Rom. 8:4-6 Those living in the flesh are displeasing to the Lord. Rom. 8:8 When the Spirit is resident within, and welcomed as teacher and guide, there is victory. Rom. 8:9.
