HIS THRONE REPRESENTS HIS ESSENTIAL QUALITY. Since He is light and fire we would anticipate that these elements would appear in conjunction to His Holy presence and His throne. John, who received the Revelation of Jesus Christ equated the throne of His occupancy with lightning’s, thundering and voices. Note that all are in the plural. Showing that the throne of the Lord is one of great activity and manifestation of light and sound. The fire was to be seen in the seven flaming lamps that were before the throne which are the seven Spirits or the sevenfold Spirit of the Lord. Rev. 4:5 The Holy Spirit is not divided into seven Spirits but is one Spirit. Eph. 4:4 His sevenfold nature is found in Isa.11:2.
EZEKIEL WAS PRIVILEGED TO SEE THE THRONE. In relationship to the throne here is seen a MAN who is seated upon that throne. The scriptures give us a variety of glimpses at the throne and its occupant. In this case he saw a MAN. there is only one man who could possible be associated with that throne and that is Jesus. He is the King of Kings. Rev. 19:16 Having this position He is proclaimed to be the only Potentate. 1 Tim. 6:15 He is the triumphant Lamb who is designated to occupy the throne. He is seen in the very heart, the midst of the throne with the evidence of having been slain. However He is standing, so He is not there as a dead body. Rev. 5:6 Because of the various aspects of His work and accomplishments He may be seen in different positions in the heavenly order. Jesus was able to offer to share His throne with those who overcome. Even as He had been victorious and had occupied the throne of the Father. Rev. 3:21 So it is the throne of the Father. The throne of the Son. It is the throne of the Spirit for the presence of the Spirit is seen in the seven horns and eyes which are upon the Lamb and are recorded as being the seven Spirits of the Lord, or the Holy Spirit. Rev. 5:6 Jesus predicted that He would return and sit upon the throne of His glory. At which time the twelve Apostles would occupy twelve governmental thrones and we see them as twelve of the twenty-four who surround the throne. Mt. 19:28 In the prophecy of the Forty-fifth Psalm and repeated in Hebrews 2:8 By the Father and proclaimed to the Son that the Son was God and that His throne is eternal. The throne of the Lord is an awesome place. From the promises made to the disciples and those who overcome the world, the flesh and the devil. They are also afforded a place, not only in the kingdom but a place in the throne. It is an immense throne to be occupied by all of these.
