A FAMILY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PILLAR.
My Father, passing Bethel Temple a downtown church in Seattle, Washington saw a gas filled balloon advertising healing meetings in the church. My twin sisters had been stricken with Polio and needed healing badly. Much was spent on doctors and medications seeking healing for them. Returning home he urged my Mother to attend these meeting with the girls, then six years of age. The very first night Mother and the girls went to the altar to give their lives to Christ. The next night when praying at the altar, as the Evangelist approached her, she sternly warned him not to give her an electrical shock as he had the night before, when he had laid hands of her. Later she was to learn that she had felt the power of the Spirit and it not an electrical shock. Bethel Temple became their church home. I was not saved until some years later.
The pillar of light was to visit them in our home. The youngest of the twins had a sucker stick in her hand and fell. The stick entered between the nose and the eye, causing the eye to cross. One night, sometime after midnight when all had retired for the night the power of the Lord came into our home. The front room was lightened with that glorious
light. In a moment of time that eye was healed and immediately straightened. Two doctors, in later years have verified that there is not even a scar. The next morning the neighbor lady from across the street came over. She was big eyed and all bewildered. The night before she had been awakened by a bright light shining over our house. She testified that she saw a pillar of light shining over our house that lightened the whole house. The pillar, the glory of the Lord still exists today.
During World war 2 Mother worked at Boeings and had to get up very early in the morning and leave the home while it was yet dark. Though she never felt afraid There were instances of divine protection. One cold winter morning while waiting for the bus a German shepherd dog came and sat at her feet. She had never seen the dog before nor did she ever see it again. One night, coming home late from a service a car began to follow her at her walking pace. Immediately there was a light that surrounded her and accompanied her until she arrive safely in the house. At a later time, once again that protecting light was to surround her and escort her, even though she saw nothing dangerous.
