HIS THRONE, THE SOURCE OF LIGHT. It must be accentuated that the throne of the Lord is anything but a stogy political position of some worldly monarch. This throne is living. Everything about it speaks of life, the life of the Lord. Eternal, everlasting life. The description given by John is correct. In his case he used the only comparison available to
him when he said that, from the throne proceeded lightening. The brilliant, gleaming, radiant ever active and pulsating light of the Lord. Thunder accompanies lightning and is the result of the lightning dividing and super heating the air to some 20,000 degrees C. which is three times the heat of the surface of the sun. Voices also are heard. Of interest is the plurality of voice. In other words the voice of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit may be heard speaking from the throne. The one who enlightens, the sevenfold Spirit of the Lord illuminates the throne. Rev. 4:5

WHEN LIGHT IS DARKNESS. An astonishing statement, indicative of one who has had the enjoyment of the light of the Lord and then lost it. Most assuredly, if one has had the light of life and has lost it, what had been light becomes gross darkness. The prime example is a being named Lucifer [Meaning; brightness, light bringer, spreading brightness]. There is no other created being in the angelic sphere who was in any greater position than he. He was as close to being God as any could be without being God. He occupied the highest place of leadership before the Lord. Isa. 14:12-14 Pride and a strong desire to usurp the authority of the Lord brought about his downfall. He will be cast out and down, even to the sides of the pit. Yet to be accomplished. Jesus said that He beheld him fall as lightning. Luke 10:18 Satan too was a being of light but that light is now darkness. He is still masquerading as a purveyor of light. But his light is nothing but darkness. 2 Cor. 11:14  Most unfortunately, the Lord in His wisdom, has permitted access to heaven to that fallen one. For he is the accuser of the brethren, day and night. Rev. 12:10c He does not have time to give us a personal visit. He is before the throne day and night. He will be cast out again creating havoc on the earth. Rev. 12:12 At the close of the tribulation he will be dealt with again and be chained and bound for a thousand years. He will be cast into the bottomless pit, shut up and sealed. At the close of the millennial reign, he is briefly loosed and will deceive the nations who have been resurrected in the second resurrection. Rev. 20:9 In the end he and all of his are cast into a lake of eternal fire where they are tormented day and night, eternally. Rev. 20:10
