JESUS, AS REVEALED TO JOHN. John had two things going for him. It was the Lords day. Therefore a day of worship. John was in the Spirit. That would be the cause for all the Revelation that was to follow. Of all the books of the Bible, the book of Revelation requires a greater anointing and spiritual knowledge to interpret its mysteries. Because it
is the Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ we would naturally expect to see Him presented foremost in the book, and He is. In keeping with our theme, John saw Him in majestic splendor and glory. His face was shining in full radiance as the sun in its might and power. The Greek word for strength used here is, dunamis, from which we derive our word dynamite. His face was showing forth that which was resident within Him. Jesus said, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Mt. 28:18
BRILLIANT RAYS OF LIGHT SHINING FROM HIS HANDS. Once again we are impressed with the presentation of the Lord as being surrounded with a light of the most brilliant kind. Be certain that any light associated with the acknowledgment of this aspect of His being, is far greater than anything that is common to earth. The NIV gives a note worthy translation here. His splendor was like the sunrise, rays flashed from His hand, where His power was hidden. Hab. 3:4 I love the thought of Christ, rising in the east or the sun rising, dispelling the darkness of the past night. Coming forth with a splendor that gives hope to all of a new day. The Word of the Lord is so exciting. His hidden power flashes forth from those blessed hands that were nailed to the tree.
IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE THRONE OF THE LORD. There are four living creatures. They are first introduced to us in Eze. 1:13 They reappear in the book of Revelation. Rev. 4:6 They are wrongly called beasts. A better translation is living creatures. That they are spiritual beings who serve the Lord, there is no question. There is what appeared to be a brilliant burning flame of fire which was actively surging up and down in their midst. It is most imperative that we see that there is great activity of fire and glory in their midst. They are also described as creatures who give forth a light as is customary with a lamp. Ezekiel also witnessed that there were flashes of lightning bursting forth from their awesome presence. Their movements, the four moving as one, in perfect harmony and purpose, moved at the speed of lighting or the speed of light. Which ever way they went they were there in a flash of time and returned in a split second. Eze. 1:14 How exciting heaven is.
