HIS GOOD INTENTIONS TOWARD HIS CHURCH. We find them expressed by the Apostle Paul in his exhortation to the Corinthian church, to be perfect, to become mature. Then to be of one mind. Surely this is a goal to reach after, and one to rejoice in when it is achieved. Such blessed unity is certainly the desire of the Lord for His people. It is definitely the prevalent attitude and atmosphere of the Bride of Christ. 1 Cor. 13:11 Unity and harmony are to be manifest in the church as we walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Rom. 15:5 Every effort possible is to be exercised to maintain the unity of the Spirit. Eph. 4:3 Complete agreement one with another is the order of every day for those who are in Christ. 1 Cor. 1:10 The church is instructed to < stand fast > in one spirit and most certainly in one mind, as a unit striving, wrestling as one person, for the faith of the gospel. The whole of the body battling as a unit for the cause of Christ. Phil. 1:27 The joy and rejoicing of leadership is when the spirit of unity prevails in the church. The Lord never presents a proposal that cannot be achieved. We, even now, are to be all of one mind, likemindedness. All filled and led by the same mighty love of the Lord. Working and motivated to be of one accord. Then, that ever present appeal, be of one mind. In every situation in our spiritual and church life there should be one grand effort to find a unity of the spirit and the revelation of the mind of Christ. Phil.2:2 When the mind of Christ is in operation in the body of believers there is not only a unity of the mind but also of the words spoken. Rom. 15:6
BE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND. When in the presence of figures of authority the expression of thoughts and the verbiage used is often tempered. That is restraint. Paul is speaking of renewal, new creation, the complete alteration of word and deed, because the mind is made to be new and the person is a new creature in Christ. The old pattern of thought, action and language is made new. The Holy Spirit works toward creating a new man in salvation and the infilling of the Spirit. Both are necessary to complete the work of that brand new being. Eph. 4:23-24 The mind of Christ is a stable mind. We are not exercising that mind when we are filled with worry and consternation. Jesus taught that we were not to be of a doubtful mind, but to seek first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added or given to you. Luke 12:29, 31 It is called a spiritual mind in contrast to the carnal mind. The spiritual mind is life and peace for it concentrates on those things which are above. The spiritual mind is subject to the will of the Lord. Rom. 8:5-7 Facing the conditions under which we live today it is very important that we allow the Spirit of the Lord to create in us a sound mind. Brought forth by the boldness and faith in Christ. By the power and love of the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Tim. 1:7 The Lord has prepared peace of mind and soul for those who will seek to have the mind of Christ and be it shall come to led day by day into a deeper walk and life in the Lord Jesus Christ.
LIVING HIS LIFE. This is the ultimate objective of the Lord for each and every one of His very own. He desire is that His life be lived and made known through those who put their trust in Him. This is not something that is put off until eternity but is to be accomplished here and now, in the physical body. If we are really desirous of His life we must first be a partaker of His death. The sinful nature must die. Paul addresses this in 2 Cor. 4:10-11 By explaining that in order to possess the life of Christ. We must associate daily with His death. Please note, that this is to be fulfilled in this life on earth, in our bodies, in our mortal flesh.
