To be a Saint of the Most High is a life that is lived in the Spirit of the Lord. That life is evidenced by The sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. Sanctification, holiness, is separation from the flesh and its desires. 2 Thess. 2:13 The Spirit of the Lord will lead us into a life of purity and dedication to the things of the Lord, if we will make that our desire. He will help us to overcome every weakness that is common to mankind. The Lord has a purpose in everything that He does and in this case His desire is to lead us to a standing where we may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus. He will manifest the fullness of His glory in His people in the end of the age.
Those who are the called, have been predestinated. Rom. 8:29-30. In His foreknowledge God predestined. This does not mean that one person is preferred above another and therefore is called. God is no respecter of persons. One individual is not passed over and excluded from the high calling of God, to the acceptation of another. He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to a knowledge of sins forgiven. Because He is God, He knows all things from the beginning. Every detail of our life is known by Him. The high calling of predestination is to be conformed to the image of His Son. We are called to be like Jesus. The ultimate purpose is that we might bear His image. Being made like Him in every aspect, having His glory upon us and in us. Completely and totally bearing His imprint and likeness. Having been filled with all the fullness of God. Note the progress of predestination. Called, with a holy calling, not by works but for HIS OWN PURPOSE AND GRACE, to be His, and to be what He is. 2 Tim. 1:9 Called to holiness. 1 Pet. 1:15. Called out of darkness, to be the election of God, His select, His favorite. A priesthood serving the Royal One. A nation of Holiness. A people wholly and totally dedicated to the Lord. 1 Pet. 2:9.
His calling elevates us to become sons of God. 1 Jn.3:1. This is a manifestation of His great love for us. Misunderstood by the world. The ultimate of His purpose is to make us to be like Himself at His appearing. We shall be like Him. This is our destination. This is our calling. This is our great reward and privilege.
