SO, YOU WANT A CROSS?

Rev.C.J McKnight

The cross means total surrender, even unto death. No only for Christ but for all who would follow Him.

Mt. 10:37-38. The cross life demands total surrender, total commitment, total love of Christ, or we are unworthy. Are we willing to bear our cross, it will be at great cost.

RELEASE BARABBAS

Rev.C.J.McKnight

JESUS SCOURGED. There was no justice to be found in Pilates court of justice on this day. The man who had proclaimed Jesus to be faultless, innocent and one who had not broken the Law, now ordered that He be beaten or flogged. This was an illegal act on the part of Pilate and he knew it. This was simply an attempt to appease and quit those who were demanding that Jesus be condemned to death. Jn.19:1 In that day they incorporated into their whips stones and fragments of bone which would tear the flesh. The back of Jesus must have appeared as a plowed field according to Ps. 129:3 Each blow He received purchased healing for us. For by His stripes we are healed. Isa. 53:5 1Pet. 2:24 Forty was the full number allowed by the law. Forty is the number of consecration. The dedication of Jesus was more than abundant to satisfy the demands of a Holy and Just God for healing and salvation. Who forgiveth ALL our iniquities, who healeth ALL our diseases. Ps. 103:3 Jesus paid the full price of our salvation and healing.

PREACHING TO PRISONERS

BY THE SPIRIT. This statement is the key to understanding what transpired when Jesus gave up His spirit at Calvary. 1 Pet. 3:18 The gospel was, past tense, preached to them that are dead. 1 Pet. 4:6 That is a very positive statement showing that the Word of God HAD been declared unto them. Once again, the prophetic utterances of the Old Testament prophets who ministered to the people giving direction and warning was, < by thy spirit in thy prophets>. Neh. 9:38 It was not necessary for Jesus to make a special visit to hell. Those who were in prison were visited by the prophets who spoke BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD, in the days of their sojourn on earth. Simply put, those in prison were ministered to, by the spirit, while they were still alive.

Insurrection in Heavens

Rev.C.Joe McKnight

LUCIFER, Brightness. The son of the morning, morning star or sun of the dawn. Day star in the margin of some Bibles. Isa.14:12 This name comes from a root word meaning; to be clear, to shine, hence to make a show, to boast, and thus to be clamorously foolish, to rave. Lucifer is Satan the Devil. We see here his appearance and his nature and character. Lucifer is not what he tries to appear to be.

PARADISE

Rev. C.J.McKnight

March 28,2002

THE PARK OF GOD. Paradise, probably of Persian origin. The word in Hebrew is pardec, or park, a forest or orchard. It was the area into which a king or ruler would go for relaxation and escape from the problems of the day. It is used three times in the Old Testament.  Neh. 2:8.

Melchisedek

Rev.C.Joe McKnight

WHO IS MELCHISEDEK?
Melchisedek is a theophany of the Lord Jesus Christ. It may also be termed a Christophany or a preincarnate appearance of Christ in human form.

THE MAN OF SORROWS

Rev. C.Joe McKnight

A MAN, DESPISED AND REJECTED BY MEN. Were it not sufficient that His own despised and rejected Him in that day, but now for almost two thousand years, He has been the most despised and rejected one. Jn. 1:11 His very existence as a man and as Very God has been challenged both inside and outside of the church world. Every manner of deep scorn and contempt has been heaped upon Him. He is the Love of God, made manifest. But, men have cast Him aside as something that is useless and of no value. Every person will feel despised and rejected at some time in their life. This is a very common human experience. So, perhaps in a very small measure we can empathize with Him. Never, never, never would our feelings ever begin to compare to His. He went through all this for you and me. He looked beyond His sufferings and saw the end result. That is, the joy set before Him. His knowledge and vision of the completed purpose of His life and death carried Him through all of His agonies. Heb. 12:2

THE CHURCH AT THE END OF THE AGE

Rev.C.Joe McKnight

August 29 – November 20, 2002

GENTILES OR HEATHEN VISITED OF GOD. The Lord visited a people outside of the acceptable religious order of the day. His reason was to receive a < people for His name >. A church that would honor and gladly bear His name. Acts 15:14 They were to be, a people who had not been followers or worshippers of Him. However, now, because of the visitation of the Lord, they are confessed to be children of God. Those who had been blessed with the mercy of the Lord. 1 Pet. 2:10 The blessings of the Lord cannot be confined within the four walls of a church nor within the boundaries of a religious organization. It is not dependent on the presence of a man, but, rather the presence of the Spirit of God. True revival. is like a prairie fire, it breaks out every where.

UNITY WITH HIM

Rev.C.Joe McKnight

Saturday, August  16, 2003 (1)

THE BRIDE TO ACHIEVE FULL AND ABSOLUTE HARMONY WITH CHRIST. The goal of the Lord Jesus is to have a bride like unto Himself. True bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh. It must be understood, by the church, that He has established certain ideals, that must be met by His bride. They are made known to us in the volume of the Word. Consider what a high design is set forth in the words of the apostle John. As HE IS, so are we in this world. It is not something which has been put off to a future age. We are to be completely like Him, in this world, the here and now. 1 John 4:17 That is one staggering statement. It sets forth the capability and the desire of the Lord to have a people EXACTLY like Himself. Anything less will not do. The pattern of His will and purpose for the church is plainly stated in His Word.
